We’ve probably all asked ourselves these questions before: What could i do differently on my blog? How do i make it more exciting and engaging? Don’t worry, i’ve asked myself the same questions before too. There are many, many ways to improve your blog and interest is only a single factor, but major one. If your blog isn’t interesting, then nobody is going to read it. Here are a few tips to make your blog more interesting.

Add Humor to Your Blog

Even a less than satisfactory blog post can come off as “good” if you can get your reader to laugh, or even just grin. Now, i’m not telling you to slap a funny pick-up line in the middle of your stance on Immigration, it can be subtle. Something as simple as a play on words, “pun intended” or using funny words can have your readers smiling before you know it.

Add Personality to Your Blog

Nobody wants to read an article that looks like a computer spit it out .05 seconds. A good example of this is someone who talks very monotone, no highs, no lows, no enthusiasm! Add some spunk, some attitude, voice your opinion, don’t just report. If you believe in something, let your readers know, as long as you maintain your dignity in doing so.

Introduce Various Types of Media

Text-heavy blogs can work if you have something pretty darn compelling to say or inform people of. Most of the time, media is used as an aid, to draw a reader into the post. Some example are video, audio, or even just a simple image. Here’s where i explain what the heck is up with the ducks! It’s a great shot by young einstein on flickr, it’s eye-catching and somewhat humorous. You can do a creative commons search on flickr to find photos that can be re-used for free.
