Retweet.it Review: Scam or the Real Deal?
You may have stumbled upon this site sometime in the past. The aim is to offer Twitter users the ability to have their tweets retweeted. All someone needs to do is retweet 2 tweets listed on reTweet.it and they have earned 1 retweet for themselves. reTweet.it’s business model however allows users to pay an upfront fee(via paypal) and have a set amount of retweets at their disposal. Paid retweets basically.
Is reTweet.it a scam?
Instead of blatantly bashing reTweet.it i’ll explain my experience and you can decide for yourself if this is something you want to try. I found out about this service from reading a blog post pitching the site. Admittedly, i got a little excited and went ahead and signed up, purchased the 100 retweets package for 10$ via paypal. When i finished paying, i was redirected back to reTweet.it only to find an error page that basically told me “something went wrong”.
Errors happen, I was willing to overlook the issue if the service worked. I proceeded to contact reTweet.it to explain what happened. Luckily, a few days later, my account was credited with the retweets i bought, no response through email though.
It was time to add my desired tweet and submit it for retweeting by other users! This was the make or break moment for me. It would decide if this is a service i could use as a valuable tool in my arsenal. Needless to say, i was thoroughly disappointed. After a day or so, i seen that a few of my retweet credits were gone(meaning a few people had retweeted my message after seeing it in the retweet.it list). I checked my @replies to verify: nothing.
10-15 days had passed and slowly my credits were going down. Every day i checked to verify for REAL retweets and NOTHING showed. What does this mean? Well, literally, it means that I didn’t get a single retweet yet my retweet credits on reTweet.it slowly went down to zero.
Don’t give reTweet.it a second of your time. I wish i hadn’t.
