Freelance and Home Business Stress Tips

Stress is something we all deal with, some more than others. When you do freelance work or have a home business, stress can get the better of you, often leaving you burnt out and with a headache. What’s worse, people tend to take their stress out on their spouse and family members, effectively “taking your work home with you”. It doesn’t have to be like this though. Following a few simple yet enormously effective rules, you can reduce home business stress significantly.
1. Be Reasonable about your Daily Workload
You’ve probably heard this one before but are you really applying this principal to your daily workload? When you get up in the morning, have your cup of coffee and write out your to-do list, it’s vital that you understand and be reasonable about the things you have time and energy for that day. Putting on just one thing that goes uncompleted may not seem like a big deal but can effect your mindset at the end of the day.
2. Give yourself Permission to..
This is very important to me and it should be for you. When things get a little heavy and you know your in for a long week, give yourself permission to take an extra day off! Your business won’t collapse in your absence.. You’ll come back with a clear head and be more enthusiastic about your work. Remember, your not giving yourself permission if your thinking about work when you shouldn’t. Take a break and leave work behind for the time being.
3. Take care of you first
Eat correctly, 3 meals a day is good and breakfast is extremely important. The body needs nourishment in the morning as it is the longest you go without eating. Workout, even if it’s just a brisk walk. You’ll feel energized and more alert. Take some time to spruce yourself up, Have your hair done or cut. Looking good and feeling good does wonders for your confidence and outlook on life.
